Mafikizolo must stop using Tebogo's name

The family of the late Mafikizolo member, Tebogo Madingoane, wants the popular band to stop using his name.
It has accused the group of neglecting it while going around pretending that the band is contact with the family.
Family spokesman and Madingoane's uncle Pepe Dire said the group has neglected the late singer's aging mother but continue to make empty promises through the media.
"Every time they go to media, whether it's television or newspapers, they talk about them helping his family and they say they are working hard to help Tebogo's mother but they never do," Dire said.
"They are talking as if they are doing things in good faith. Last time they promised his mother to come and visit and have something for her but they never came."
"They must not go around using his name. To the public it looks like they are doing something for the family but they are not," Dire said.
Dire said he has been trying to get hold of group members Nhlanhla Nciza and Theo Kgosinkwe through their manager Modise Kgomo since December.
"He [Kgomo] promised to speak to Theo and Nhlanhla and tell them that there is an outcry from the Madingoane family and I said it was okay. December passed and he has said that they will meet with us and till today we have not seen them," he said.
Dire said the family was angered by the group which has been using his nephew's name for publicity.

DJ Tira wants to copy me

YESTERDAY, the beef between Afrotainment boss DJ Tira and Big Nuz’ Mampintsha shifted up a gear.

On Gagasi FM the singer, whose real name is Mandla Maphumulo, told DJ Naves and Sphectacula that Tira had been telling lies.

Mampintsha was responding to Tira’s announcement that Big Nuz is no longer being managed by Afrotainment.

Mampintsha said Tira was trying to make it sound as if Big Nuz was in the wrong.
In Zulu, he said: “Let me tell you the truth. The day I decided to start my own company was when things changed.

“When I signed Babes Wodumo, people started gossiping about me and still do.

“No one said they wanted to jump ship.

“I said I wanted to open a company and do my own thing. He left everything just to focus on me and even decided to open a dance school, which is exactly what I’m doing. The dancers at Afrotainment previously danced for Babes.

“He even signed a singer to copy her.”
DJ Tira accused of lying about why he dumped Big Nuz. Photo: Jabulani Langa.
DJ Tira said he was not trying to copy Mampintsha’s West Ink.
“I didn’t dump Big Nuz. Since October, people who wanted the group needed to call him or Danger.”

“I’m not jealous. Is it a problem if I give dancers a chance? Let’s grow our music industry in peace. Can we hear when the next Big Nuz album will be out or if it’s coming out?”

Meet Mrs ALEXANDRA 2016/2017!

GOGO Maria Mabena has finally realised her dream – even if it took her over 50 years. Recently the beauty was crowned Mrs Alexandra 2016/17.
It’s a dream that the 77-year-old gogo gave up on during her high school years.
“I was overjoyed and surprised at the same time because for me it was like an old dream finally coming true,” she said.
Born and bred in Alexandra, northern Joburg, gogo Maria said during her school years she used to enter beauty pageants.
“I never won, not even once, so I just gave up on ever winning a title,” she said.
Unlike the usual beauty pageants where judges consider beauty and brains, this one was different in the sense that one’s wellness counted.
Maria said: “They looked at how active a woman was for her age. About 40 gogos entered. I have always been active and health conscious, even with what I eat.
“It’s not an easy competition as the other gogos were even prettier than me. But I was smarter and quicker.”
Gogo Maria won a plasma TV and a dinner set. She will also be part of a group of gogos that community leader Linda Twala will be taking to Cape Town next month.
“If there is one thing I’ve learnt from this competition it’s that dreams don’t die. They may sometimes take just a bit longer to be realised. Now I will die a happy soul,” she said.

Here's where Minnie Dlamini and Quinton's fairytale began

Nandi Madida was not at Minnie Dlamini and Quinton Jones' white wedding over the weekend but she definitely played a role in their fairytale love story.
As the couple tied the knot in an all-white ceremony in Cape Town on Saturday, Nandi took to social media to reveal that the couple first met as teenagers at her family home.
"(I am) heartbroken I can't make it to your big day Minnie but what makes me feel better is knowing that you two met for the first time at our family home when you were still in your teens," Nandi said.
She said that their love story was a tale she would tell their kids and grandkids.
"I feel lucky to have witnessed the very first day you two met. Lucky to have witnessed the beginning of a beautiful journey," she added.
The couple's white wedding was attended by some of the biggest names in Mzansi, including Somizi Mhlongo, Unathi Msengana, Jessica Nkosi and Anele Mdoda.
Minnie, who promised a dress out of the ordinary, dazzled in a long white dress with a veil, while Quinton wore a dashing black suit.
Take a look at some of the snaps from the big day.

Kota's The best thing since sliced BREAD!

KOTA lovers came out in their numbers to experience different flavours!
This weekend, thousands queued at the kasi’s first Kota Festival at the Soweto Theatre in Jabulani.
More than 30 professional chefs came together to show their skills at what is known as the kasi burger.
They put together green peppers, grilled tomatoes, lettuce and chicken feet to add spice to the popular kasi meal.
Experienced chef Katlego Mlambo told Daily Sun: “I wanted to show what South Africa is all about.”
Katlego made two kotas – a bujwa burger and a Russian kota, which has a healthy twist.
“I’m having fun playing around with the ingredients.
“As a chef you need to get the foundation correct and the rest is easy. Kota is loved by most people in kasis,” he said.
Kota fan Kgahliso Mahlako (26) said: “When I heard about the festival, I had to attend. My love of kotas goes back to my high school years.”
She had a rib kota and said it was like nothing she had ever tasted before. Julius Charles (30) had a beef stew kota.
“The first time I ate a kota was three years ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. I’m impressed,” he said.
Organiser Sydwel Tshingilane said: “We decided to host a kota festival as it’s the most popular meal ekasi.”
Over 3000 people came on Saturday.

Zodwa Wabantu blames 'politics' for cancelled Zim gig

Zodwa Wabantu claims that "politics behind closed doors" was the reason her performance at a private club in Zimbabwe over the weekend was canned at the 11th hour.
Speaking to TshisaLIVE, an angry Zodwa said she received a text message late last week, while in Mozambique notifying her of the cancellation. The entertainer claimed that she was advised to tell fans she was "too sick to perform".
"The show was cancelled at the last moment, they said I must tell everyone that I am sick and they would send me money to cover the trouble. It's a political thing. It was politics behind closed doors because apparently people were protesting that they want me to perform and sponsors were pulling out of the event because reports about me were drawing too much (negative) attention to the event," Zodwa said.
A fuming Zodwa then cancelled another performance at a club in Harare because she "felt disrespected" by authorities in the country.
"I was originally told not to come because of the way I dress but everyone knows that I don't wear panties. It is not like I walk around and lift my skirt to show everyone that I don't wear underwear, so why are people so upset? They should fix themselves before they try to fix me.
"I am angry that they are always dragging my name and brand through the mud. The (media) reports have all been about what they say about me and how they are trying to stop me performing. I have had enquiries from around the world but they have all wanted to know more about my trip than about my career. It is not right ," she said.
Despite the controversy surrounding her performances in the country, Zodwa said she would return to Zim in the future but it would be on her own terms.
"I love Zimbabwe and my fans there love me. I can't let them down. I will return but I need time and to do it properly," she said.
Zodwa has hogged headlines for the past few weeks after she was billed to perform at the Harare International Carnival. Zimbabwean authorities initially stated that she would only be allowed to perform if she wore underwear, then issued an apology, which was short lived.
Two weeks ago authorities issued a ban surrounding Zodwa's performance after a complaint was laid  by local actress Anne Nhira.
Anne questioned why a South African was being used to perform when there were many young Zimbabweans who were working hard and were more than capable of doing the same job.  Zodwa responded by lambasting the actress and accusing her of dividing the continent.
Here's a look at text message Zodwa received which was supplied to TshisaLIVE.

WATCH: Babes shows off her skills with gospel rendition

Babes Wodumo has always tackled negative comments about her singing ability head-on, and has once again shared proof to back up her statements.
Taking to Instagram the Wololo hitmaker shared a video of her doing a gospel rendition.
Not that Babes is fazed by gossip surrounding her. During a recent interview on Metro FM, the gqom queen said that being gossiped about didn't bother her.
"Being gossiped about is not a big deal for me. People gossiped about me when I was still a nobody so I am not worried. I am very intelligent and people that work with me know. I mean, I am 23 but I am doing great things and handling my things, that should inform people of my intellectual capacity," she said.
But just incase you doubted her statements, here's the video:

Lady Zamar: I became angry when I was told that I wasn’t a real artist

Despite topping the charts with her hits, Lady Zamar's musical abilities have often been questioned by critics, which has left her angry and frustrated.
Lady Zamar has worked with some of the biggest names in the industry over the course of her short career but told TshisaLIVE she was sometimes accused of not being a real musician.
"The most difficult people to deal with are those who believe that I am not a musician. I get it a lot. I became angry when I was told that I wasn't a real musician. In actual fact, I have screengrabs of telephone conversations, which I have emailed to myself, to remind myself that this is what this person thinks of me.
"It is the hardest thing, when you work with a person and give 100% and they turn around and say to you that he does not think you are a real musician, and tells you that you do not know anything about music. I don't care whether people are arrogant or think that I am arrogant but don't disrespect my artistic value," Lady Zamar said.
She revealed that she often also got angry when people accused her of lip-syncing on stage, to the point that she felt compelled to prove herself to the fans by singing some of her sets acoustically.
"I always feel like I need to respond to critics of my music because I put a lot of work into my music. I feel very offended when people accuse me of not doing enough. My friends are my best support structure. They always tell me that it's not that bad and I should ignore it," she added.
Despite this, Lady Zamar said she was humbled by her army of followers which seems to be growing by the day.
More than anything, the musician wants her fans to know that despite topping the charts with hit after hit, she is just a normal person. That is why she is currently filming a documentary about her life.
"I feel like there is a big divide between artists and their fans. Fans say things about musicians but they don't know what is happening behind closed doors. I want to show them that. I want them to get to know me when I am performing, when I am angry, when I am on the road. There is a lot of crazy things, it's not all glitz and glamour," she said
The documentary, which will be filmed by several production teams and woven together, is set for release by the end of the year.
It's all part of building a legacy as one of the biggest stars in South Africa and proving that she is not only a real musician, but is also here to stay.

MY SONGS COME IN DREAMS!

SOULFUL artist Mondli Ngcobo is a dreamer.
The Inkanyezi hitmaker told SunBuzz that he didn’t write the song, but dreamt it.
“To be honest I never wrote that song. It came to me in a dream and I woke up and recorded it.
“That is why the song is doing so well and why it is so spiritual.
“The song talks about hope and says people must not give up because the Lord is taking care of us.
“I am just the messenger. God used me to send this message to his people.”
Mondli, who owns M Word Productions, said he would be releasing a debut album soon.
“I am waiting for the album to come back from mastering and then I’ll release it.
“People don’t understand that the reason I’ve taken so long to release my album is because I am a spiritual person.
“I no longer write songs. “They come to me in my dreams. This is how I am able to tell if a song will be big or not.”
Mondli has signed DJ Merlon, DJ Kotin and Afro Jazz singer Xoliswa Dlamini to M Word Productions.
He said his second single will feature award-winning artist Naima Kay.

Junior Singo reveals the pros and cons of being a 'young veteran'

Actor Junior Singo who entered the entertainment world ten years ago as a child star has revealed that bursting into the spotlight as a young child comes with its advantages and disadvantages.
The actor told TshisaLIVE that he is grateful for new opportunities and roles, which give him the chance to display his maturity as an actor and helps him remain relevant in an ever-changing industry.
Junior recently bagged a role on Generations: The Legacy where he plays the role of a 15-year-old street kid named Mpho.
"I'm fortunate that my experience in the industry gave me a distinct opportunity to grow with the character. Now, no matter what role I am given, whether as a 15-year-old or a 26-year-old, I can do wonders with it. I have also been in the industry long enough not to be phased by it. I know how it works both in film and television productions and that's a blessing," he said.
The actor, who burst into the spotlight back in 2003 through the feature film, Beat the Drum, explained he never saw himself as a celebrity. This is also the reason why he has steered clear of negative headlines that comes with being in the spotlight.
"I never presented myself as a celebrity. At the time where I was starting out, most people didn't see my work. For example, four years after I had started, nobody recognised me as a famous person. That helped me a lot because I never identified as a person that needed publicity. I just get the work done," he said.
Even though Junior has an impressive list of roles and accolades under his belt, he admitted that staying relevant was important in today's world.
"The only thing about being a young experienced person in this industry is that you have to constantly strive to be an updated package. Back in my time, the number of [social media] followers didn't mean much, your work got you your next gig. But now, I need to work on other things like a great body and gaining a following," he said.
Junior said he doesn't mind working hard to be a package because thankfully he has experience and "God-given talent" on lockdown.

Multi-award winning singer, Zahara spoke to TshisaLive and expressed her frustration with South Africa and Africa as a whole.
The Loliwe singer is planning to go abroad and share her music with people she believes will appreciate her music more.

The singer is tired of being at the center of the media for her private life.
“I have done everything I could here and now people have started to tear me apart. They focus on my private life instead of my music and they don't give me the same respect.

Somizi is not giving away R100k

A few Facebook users have been made the joke of the Twitter streets after falling for Somizi Mhlongo’s fake Facebook page promising 50 users R100 000.
The page, Somizi Mhlongo Official – Somgaga, has been posting statuses and pictures of the Idols SA judge and choreographer that were taken from his Instagram account. The page tries to post what Somizi would say, and to an unsuspecting eye, it looks like it came straight from the horse’s mouth.
However, the page took it a step too far after posting a picture of Somizi sitting on his BMW i8, and claimed to be giving away R50 000 to “50 lucky members”.
All they have to do is to share the post “as much as they can”, like the page and the comment “done”, and shem, people have been sharing and commenting. Who wouldn’t do it for R100 000? Winners will be announced on December 30, it claims.
“I’m paying it forward,” fake Somizi writes on the post.
The post has more than 7 000 comments, and has been shared more than 26 000 times, with people hoping to win the money. The page has 33 242 followers so far, which might increase as people keep sharing the post.
The real Somizi shared a screenshot of the post on Twitter to tell his followers the page was fake, and Twitter had a field day.
These were some of the comments on Twitter:
“Mina I am just amazed by those busy commenting yathandwa imali emzansi 100K pho.”
“Some people don’t have a life nje yazi. So you decide to take time and create an account and type all that? Could have used that time wisely.”
“I Knew It Immediately.Somizi Doesn’t Give Away Money For Nothing love u SomG.”
“I am waiting for my 100K in December.”
“I still don’t get why people open fake pages though mxm.”
“Thank you…. thought as much!”

'The country was looking for someone to blame' - Kelly Khumalo on Senzo's death

If there's anybody who has been a victim of public bullying, especially after the death of her boyfriend Senzo Meyiwa, it is Kelly Khumalo.
She has been outspoken about the fact that she made a conscious decision not to let the hate get to her and, in an interview with Gareth Cliff on Cliff Central, she opened up about South African's blaming her for Senzo's death.
"I think the country was looking for someone to blame and I just happened to be there. I mean. if you really think about it, if I wanted to do what they were accusing me of doing, I wouldn't have done it in front my children in my own mother's home and to a person that I loved dearly," she said.
Kelly spoke about how she has learnt to deal with negative press and how her spirituality has helped her remain strong.
"I don't mind sharing my life. I am very comfortable in my own truth. It doesn't matter how you see it. If you take advantage of that, that is your problem. But I am very comfortable in who I am and everything that I have been through, whether good or bad."
The songstress spoke extensively about relying on God for strength and how, despite the support structure she has, she has found inner strength despite everything that has happened to her.
"Everything was against me but I am strongly rooted in Christ," she said.

'Missing Millions'MUVHANGO'S

POPULAR SABC2 soapie Muvhango is rumoured to be in a financial crisis, and some actors allege that their jobs are on the line.
This after its production company, Word Of Mouth Pictures, was said to have been swindled out of more than R4,5 million.
Sources within the soapie allege no one is taking the fall for the lost money.
One insider said: “We don’t know when the money disappeared or into which account. But this whole situation will make innocent people suffer if actors don’t get paid. Logistics are hanging in the balance.”
Another source said: “I think we’ve had problems in the past. But this one is the worst because people could be left jobless.
“Someone was driven by greed and it’s unfair. Duma Ka Ndlovu and other producers from Word Of Mouth have been having back-to-back meetings.
“They’ve been trying to come up with a plan to get extra cash to pay workers. But if they fail, they’ll have no choice but to let actors go.”
A third worried source said: “Don’t be surprised if you see actors resigning because they’re not getting paid. This is unfair.”
Last month, it was reported that actress Phindile Gwala, who played bubbly character Nonny on the soapie, had resigned.
A year ago the SunTeam reported that senior actors including Sindi Dlathu (Thandaza Mokoena), Dingaan Mokebe ka Khumalo (James Motsamai), Cynthia Shange (MaNkosi), and Senzokuhle Radebe (Sthembiso Gumede), were allegedly unhappy.
A group of cast members claimed some actors had been on strike for three months.
But last week, the soapie’s publicist and Word of Mouth PR manager Amanda Ngudle allayed fears that people would lose their jobs, and dismissed the negative rumours.
She told the People’s Paper that rumours and fears of job losses at Word of Mouth Pictures, were ill-founded.
Said Amanda: “A forensic investigation has led to the suspension of an accounts employee at Word Of Mouth Pictures and investigations are continuing.”
Amanda issued a statement that the company has managed to identify and stop the abuse, hence the suspension of the employee.
“There shall be no job losses.”
“In fact, we have just signed new contracts with all employees, with the exception of Phindile Gwala, who resigned last month.”

Babes Wodumo 'distributed flyers' before stardom

Contrary to belief Babes Wodumo has been hustling hard behind the scenes and didn't just become an 'overnight success'.
Before the bright lights of stardom, Babes distributed flyers for late gospel star, Sfiso Ncwane.
Taking to social media, Sfiso's widow, Ayanda took a trip down memory lane to reflect on Babes' journey to the top.
"They call you Babes Wodumo, I still call her Bongekile, my daughter. This girl served under mine and my late husband's company, working every day tirelessly with passion and hope that one day she will become a star she is today," said Ayanda.
Ayanda also set the record straight on commentary that Babes became a star overnight with her hit track Wololo.
"Just so you know, Babes Wodumo is not an overnight success, she served under my leadership at my office, distributing flyers and doing real work at office as we were organizing gospel events, yes gospel events.
"God remembered her and she is now reaping her fruits of serving, she did not just fall into luck, she served and was patient for her time. I wish one day someone will tell your real story babegal," she added.

Bontle Modiselle is protective of her sister Refilwe

Television presenter Bontle Modiselle, who completes the trio of the famous Modiselle sisters with actress Candice and model Refilwe, has opened up about learning to protect her sister from people with negative perceptions of albinism.
Speaking to the Fresh Breakfast team, the choreographer reflected on how they learned to love and protect their sister, model Refilwe who has Albinism, and how her "fire" taught them courage in return.
"Often people with albinism have a problem with their eyes, so sometimes we have to be her eyes for her. There are things that I am glad that my sister didn't see that I saw on her behalf. There are things that we heard and we do anything and everything in our power to protect her. But if you know my sister, she is fire and she is feisty," she said.
The Club 808 presenter explained that their mother raised them to love each other without terms or conditions so there was never an issue.
She said that they never saw her as different and that from a young age they picked up that it was actually "outside" people wanted them to be uncomfortable.
"My older Refilwe has albinism but for me, the way mama raised us, she loved us equally and unconditionally. There was no significant difference between her kids, so we never knew that there was a problem with her. She was extremely light skin and we loved playing with her skin. I think people out there made it a problem and they wanted it to be uncomfortable for us, but it wasn't," she said.
