Two appeared in court on Wednesday for murder of Khwezi Hudson

Hudson was killed last month in a robbery attempt at Sakhumzi restaurant while staff cashed up. Two suspects were arrested last week‚ one in KwaZulu-Natal and another in Soweto.

Gauteng MEC for Community Safety‚ Sizakele Nkosi Malobane attended proceedings.

She called for the maximum penalty if the suspects were guilty. "It's murder‚ and an armed business robbery‚" she said.

Responding to accusations of a lack of security in the internationally recognized tourism street‚ the MEC said that there were sufficient safeguards in the area.

“We have a CCTV system and that is why we were successful in the arrest of the suspects. Our sector police vehicle is there every 15 minutes to beef up security”.

Schoolchildren seriously injured after a taxi crash

Schoolchildren serious injured after the taxi in which they were traveling with to school early Wednesday morning collided with a car.The accident took place near Kwamakhuta  South of Durban.

The accident happened on old main road Isipingo early on around 7am,and again it left almost 17 people injured and mostly primary schoolchildren.

Rescue care operation director Garrith Jamieson said,"Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that two vehicles collided badly and discovering that the taxi had overturned and other car badly damaged outside the road.Paramedics found out that almost 17 people had been seriously injured most of them being schoolchildren".

"After the arrival of the paramedics at the scene found people lying outside the road some with multiple,fatal injuries.all patients were treated at the scene then after transferred to the near hospital for further treatment",Garrith Jamieson added.

The Kwamakhuta South of Durban accident happens on the same day were a taxi driver appeared in the Ntuzuma Magistrate’s court for the accident that happen early on last months during back-to-school,The accident  left four people dead and some with serious injuries in Durban.The Provincial Education Authority on a mission to crack down on all errant drivers especially those public transporters operators who works with school children.

Four policemen and 22 passengers seriously injured in Durban

The collision between the police vehicle and bus earlier on yesterday left 22 people injure the accident took

 place around Durban on Friday afternoon,four policemen and other passengers from the bus are seriously injured  rushed to hospital.

The paramedics got at the scene in time all patients were treated and transferred to different hospital especially those who were in a critical conditions.

Robert  Mckenzie the emergency services spokesperson said" all passengers and four policemen were seriously injured some were even in a shocking condition but we did manage to treat them and transfer them to various hospital for further treatment".

"The accident happened early on yesterday near Reunion Station and at this point we are busy trying to figure out the main cause of the accident.The police are busy investigating at the moment and trying to find the exact cause of the accident",Robert Mckenzie added.
