#Drugs worth half a million rand buried in Cape Flats yard

Two men, aged 28 and 54, were arrested and charged for dealing drugs after they were found with Mandrax tablets valued at R475 000 in Lavender Hill, police said in a statement on Monday.
Police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Andrè Traut, said the arrest was made Sunday evening during a Public Order Police unit operation in Hillview in Lavender Hill.
"The search led police to the backyard where a steel trunk buried in the ground was found, comprising 8 990 mandrax tablets with a street value of R 475,000." Traut said the men are due to make a court appearance in Muizenberg on Tuesday.
