The Parliament probes SONA pepper spray incident .The
Economic Freedom Fighters members were
official removed by security officers during President Jacob Zuma State of Nation
Address (SONA) in Cape Town 9 February 2017 South Africa.
“somebody might have dropped the pepper spray the time when
some members were taken out of the house and created so much discomfort amongst
many people were still there ,”said Manelisi Wolela the acting spokesperson of
Parliament on Friday morning on Radio 702.
President Jacob Zuma’s speech was threaten by the Economic
Freedom Fighters members .All Economic
Freedom Fighters members were forcibly ejected from the chamber after an hour
of disruptions .
There is a report that someone in the gallery dropped a
powder that really left people coughing and again caused a disruptions for
guests and all other Parliament members.
The Parliament spokesperson said "this is totally unacceptable
and this kind of manners will never be accepted as we speak the Parliament
has condemned that action.the footage has being reviewed and it’s reported that
is one of the people within the public gallery and all evidence has been
gathered soon the culprit will be found".
"The presiding officer in the Parliament demonstrated an
outstanding performance level of patients with some members of unruly and
disruptive manners,"Wolela added.
