One killed, one injured as bakkie rolls in Carletonville

A man, believed to be in his late 20s, was killed and another man was injured when their bakkie rolled at the R501/N12 intersection in Carletonville on the West Rand on Saturday night, paramedics said.

When ER24 paramedics arrived at the scene just before 8pm, another medical service was already on the scene, ER24 spokeswoman Ineke van Huyssteen said.

“They declared the man dead. The other man was lying outside of the vehicle. ER24 assessed the other man, believed to also be in his late 20s. He sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Carletonville Hospital for further medical care.”

The cause of the accident was unknown at this stage, Van Huyssteen said.
