#Headless man's family in shock'connection with Thembinkosi Nzimakwe’s brutal death'

AS A second suspect appeared in court yesterday in connection with Thembinkosi Nzimakwe’s brutal death, his family spoke for the first time.
The family from Bizana, Eastern Cape, heard on Tuesday that Thembinkosi’s head had been chopped off.
The family made sure their elders attended court as the second suspect (30) appeared in the Durban Magistrates Court before Magistrate Mohamed Motala.
Victor Nzimakwe (49) is the brother of murdered Thembinkosi (34).
He said the family was left traumatised on hearing of his gruesome death.
“Thembinkosi lived with a relative in Mayville, Durban. The relative called me on Saturday to tell me that Thembinkosi didn’t come home on Friday,” Victor said.
“I asked him to speak to Thembinkosi’s colleagues and he called me again on Sunday, saying they didn’t know where he was.
“He then told me a head had been found, saying it could be Thembinkosi’s.
“I told him to wait until Monday to ask Thembinkosi’s colleagues if he arrived at work. Again they told him he didn’t arrive.”
The relative reported the matter to the police on Tuesday.
Victor said: “He went to Durban Central Police Station and discovered that the chopped-off head belonged to Thembinkosi. He called me and I informed the elders of the family.”
He said the investigating officer told them the two suspects were seen arguing by a security guard next to a car in the Durban CBD on Friday.
The guard, who works at a nearby shop, thought they were trying to steal the car.
He then went to them, took a bag from them and saw a head. He caught one of them. The other man ran away.
“The guard called the police. I think the men were planning to sell the head to an inyanga,” said Victor.
Both suspects will be back in court on Monday.
They have not pleaded.
