JOHANNESBURG - The contravention of the Riotous Assemblies Act case against Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema has been postponed in the Newcastle Magistrates Court.
Malema appeared briefly in the dock on Friday on land charges.
The case relates to the red beret leader's repeated instructions to party members to occupy vacant land wherever it’s found.
He's also been charged under the common law for the same matter and will go on trial in July.
Meanwhile, the National Prosecution Authority’s Luvuyo Mfaku says Malema will be back in the Newcastle magistrates court in October.
“We can confirm that the matter between the State and Mr Malema was postponed to 13 October.”
